Belgium deservedly won the Under-17 Division 2 title at JHQ1 in Moenchengladbach on Friday, beating Italy by seven wickets with just one over to spare.

Belgium has maintained their unbeaten record in the ICC U17 division 2 championships in Germany. They have now won all three of there group games and lead the group. With only one more to play they are clear favourites to win Group B and play the final on Friday 15/8/2008.  Follow their progress HERE

On Saturday 10 June, two school teams played the first ever final of the Belgian cricket championship for under-11 schoolboys and girls. Under splendid conditions, Christophe Peeters, the alderman for Sport of the city of Ghent, was on hand to see 20 enthusiastic kids playing cricket. Later, he also officially opened the new pitch at Domein Claeys-Bouüaert in Mariakerke near Ghent.

Christophe Peeters, schepen van sport van de stad Gent, woonde een deel van de wedstrijd bij; zag 20 jongens en meisjes die plezier hadden in hun wedstrijd en opende ook officieel de nieuwe cricketpitch in Domein Claeys-Bouüaert in Mariakerke bij Gent, waar de twee lokale cricketclubs, Arcadians CC en Gent CC, competitiecricket spelen.
