Guernsey hosts 4 Islands competition

The teams from the four islandsThe 3rd Four Islands Tournament, held every two years between Jersey, Guernsey, Isle of Man and Isle of Wight, was hosted this year by Guernsey between 16-20 August. Guernsey won the final on Friday, 20th August against the Isle of Man by 60 runs. Jersey beat the Isle of Wight in the 3rd/4th playoff.

All the "league" matches were effected by rain. On the Monday, neither of the matches reached the end of first innings (50 overs a side) and so were rescheduled for Thursday. The Isle of Man beat the Isle of Wight and Jersey using Duckworth/Lewis on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Isle of Man lost to Guernsey in the replayed league match on the Thursday (by 8 wkts) however both teams had already qualified for the Friday final.

Guernsey had been favourites before the event started based on their defeat of Jersey earlier in the season and the fact that India A player A. Banerjee was playing for the side along with Hampshire 2nd XI player J. Firth.
