Double Weekly report : 13 June

webmaster

It is June, which means exams for all the students among us!
And exams are the reason there was no weekly report last week, but to make this up there is a double overview today!

Weekend of 4th and 5th June

First of all, the BCF wants to stress that all results are send in on time!
As everyone wants to know the results fairly early on Monday,
wasting time in having to remind clubs during the course of the day to send in their results is not an option.
It is unfair on those who send their results in good time.
In future therefore, any club which fails to send in its result during the course of the working day on Monday, i.e before 18.00 hrs, will incur a 5 point penalty.
Which is what happened last weekend with the Mechelen Eagles.

Other important news; Dave Baker of 12 Stars did make an official announcement on the 2nd June.
12 Stars have withdrawn from the league this season due to difficulty with playing numbers,
but remain members of the BCF and hope to be able to play in the league again next year.

Back to the results!
In reserve division, only one game. Royal Brussels stays firmly on the second place, after a win against Mechelen CC.
Also in the second division only one game; Antwerp gets its first important win of the season against PCCB.
Some more activity in first division, two games!
A close win from Ostend at home against Mechelen and Greens win at home against RBCC, who still get 24 league points.

top scoring batsman of the week : Shahid (MechelenCC) 166

Weekend of 11th and 12th June

With Greens beating the Indians, RBCC, AICC and the Greens are neck and neck at the top of the 1st Division, and looks like Ostend and MCC will be fighting to avoid relegation.
Crescent still have games to play in the 2nd, but will be keen to get promotion after their disappointment last year.
If Arcadians keep winning they will be in the 2nd division next year (pitch permitting!)

top scoring batsman of the week : Zoheeb Hussain (Ostend Exiles) 227
