This saturday, Arcadians Ghent won their fifth game in a row, and so booking their place in the second division next year!
And in what a way they won that last match against RBCC.
Brussels batting first and scoring 209 the Arcadians made good progress chasing the total.
But with the score on 203 and only 9 balls to go, they lose their 9th wicket!
The 11th man goes in, Jan De Baets, only playing cricket for 4 months.
But he manages to survive 3 more balls.
So 6 balls to go, 7 to win for Arcadians ...
4 dot's follow and now it's 7 to win from 2 balls !
A four is scored - trailing by 2 - and with just one ball to bowl...
Which goes for four as well !
So Arcadians win by one wicket off the last ball of the match!!
The race for the championship looks to be narrowing to between RBCC and AICC with Greens losing to Mechelen, who now move off the bottom spot.
The 2nd division is still wide open with the leadres Crescent having only played 2 games so far.
