Holland claims final World Cup place

Bas Zuiderent receives his award from ICU Chairman Joe Doherty

Holland join Ireland and Scotland in qualifying for the 2007 World Cup. Europe therefore gained three of the five places available through the ICC Trophy qualification route.

Having narrowly missed out on automatic qualification during the group stage, Holland bounced back with two emphatic victories to seal the final place in the Caribbean in 2007. Holland beat Denmark by 89 runs to reach the play-off against UAE and proved far too strong for them, claiming a victory that will see them compete in a second consecutive ICC Cricket World Cup and third in total.

Bas Zuiderent (Holland), Man of the Match v UAE, receives his award from Joe Doherty, Chairman ICU. Bas made 3 centuries for his country at the tournament.
