Saints retain Six-a Side Trophy with immaculate display
Skipper Jaco Jansen received the Six-a-Side Trophy from Vice-Chairman Mark Entwisle after his side had easily seen off the challenge of Ramsey in Sunday's Final. Batting first the Saints rattled up 74 for 1 off their 5 overs with Jansen making 32 not out and Ewald Killian firing a rapid 32 not out including 3 massive sixes. In reply Ramsey never got going and were reeling at 24 for 5 as Ewald killian took 3 wickets in an over. Adam Peel made 22 to take Ramsey to 46 but they were never really in with a chance.
In the semi finals St Johns easily defeated Peel with Jaco Jansen making 53 not out in a score of 98, while Ramsey comfortably defeated a gutsy Finch Hill side.
Many thanks to Cronkbourne and St John's for the use of their grounds and also especially to Pete Crellin.
Thanks also to the four umpires for their services during a long day.
