A donation of €4160 was presented to the President of the German Conference of Welfare and Social Work (Diakonie) in Germany Mrs Rixte Eckhard. Press-officer of the German Cricket Federation Carsten Höfinghoff handed over a cricket-ball and a bat to remind the conference that cricket is a sport overcoming boundaries, language and social status. The money goes to an organization run by the conference, the Katastrophenhilfe (Catastropy-Aid). €1.6 million has been collected so far for projects run by the Katastrophenhilfe. Höfinghoff spoke to 200 representatives from church to art and politics about the work of the DCB and the impact that the tsunami made on every cricketer in Germany. In her speech, The Special Representative of the German Chancellor for the Tsunami Victims, Prof. Christine Rau, wife of former German President Johannes Rau, gave some brief information about the progress of the projects. She appreciated the work and effort that was involved in the fund raising and thanked the DCB for the donation.
