England Honours at ICC Awards
England received several honours at the ICC Awards ceremony held in Sydney on 11th October. The event takes place to recognise cricket’s star performers over a 12 month period. England’s honours include:
- The Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for Players of the Year, Joint winners: Andrew Flintoff and Jacques Kallis
- Spirit of Cricket Award: England
- Emerging Player of the Year: Kevin Pietersen
- ODI Player of the Year: Kevin Pietersen
- World ODI Team included:: Andrew Flintoff and Kevin Pietersen
- World Test XI included:: Andrew Flintoff
ICC President Ehsan Mani said ‘On behalf of the ICC I wish to congratulation England on winning the Spirit of Cricket Award. Michael Vaughan’s side has enjoyed considerable success on the field during the voting period and this award shows they have done so by upholding the traditional values of the game’.
