Jersey have officially registered to enter their first competitions since becoming affiliate members of the ICC.

The senior Island side will play in the European Cricket Council European Division II Championship from 3 to 9 August against France, Germany, Gibraltar, Israel, Norway, Greece and Guernsey.

In preparation for the exciting season ahead, the senior Island squad - based around the team who played in the inter-insular - will begin winter training on 8 January.

Jersey have also entered an under-17 team in the ECC European Division Championship to be held in Israel from 18 to 24 August.

This will feature ten teams including France, Germany, Gibraltar, Israel and Italy.

One of the immediate benefits of membership is that the ICC cover all external travel expenses, so for the teams travelling to Scotland and Israel there is only accommodation and travel costs within the destination country to be found.
