During the weekends of 7th/8th and 14th/15th January, 10 candidates took the Level 1 coaching course at the Scheppers Institute in Mechelen under the leadership of ECC coach, Dave Gelling.
All ten thoroughly enjoyed the course and thankfully passed. David Jukes, now living in Belgium, assisted with the final assessment.
Having 10 more qualified coaches is a major boost to the BCF cricket development programme. Already, many of them are earmarked for coaching in schools.

Four schools have been selected for regular cricket activities during school gym lessons.
Mechelen, Antwerp, Gent and Arcadians CCs are planning sessions outside school hours to cater for those children interested in continuing with the sport.
At the end of the school year, the schools will take part in their own tournament for Under 11s.
A selection will then be made of the best players for a Belgian U11 team to play in Kent during the first weekend in September against France, Germany,
Holland and a local Kent team. "
