Deloitte win GCA Trophy

Deloitte, fresh from clinching promotion to Division One of the Evening League, won the 2006 GCA Trophy with a comprehensive 70-run win over Salemites at KGV.
Deloitte made 238 in their 40 overs, with 15-year old Jonny Clark making 73. He was well-supported by useful contributions from his father and skipper Dave, as well as from Paul Spruce.
In reply Salemites were bowled out for 168, with Stef Hothi left stranded on 66 not out. Jonny Clark completed his fine all-round performance with 3 wickets to clinch the man of the match award, while fellow 15-year old Ben McVey took an impressive 4 for 38 from his ten overs of leg-spin.
