Guernsey Investec Youth Development XI Tour to Holland and Belgium

Guernsey's Youth Development XI, sponsored by Investec, have embarked on a week-long tour to Holland and Belgium. The tour was arranged following the cancellation of the European Under-17 Second Division Championships due to security fears. The Under-17s have been strengthened for the games in Holland by three overage players in James Warr (20), Jamie Nussbaumer (19) and Ben Ferbrache (18), who will all be going to Cape Town in October with the Youth Development squad for the second time.
GAME 1
In their opening game at Harlem against the Harlem Red and Whites, Guernsey batted first and made 206 for 4 in 40 overs. Jonny Warr top-scored with 61 not out from 73 balls while Jamie Nussbaumer made 34. Opener Tom Strawbridge made 21. In reply, the home side were all out for 125, with Jamie Nussbaumer taking 3 for 6 with his rarely-seen offspin, and younger brother Luke taking 3 for 30 with his legspin. The home club's South African professional coach top-scored with 75.
GAME 2
In the second game against VRA CC at the VRA ground, Guernsey made 218 all out with 2 balls remaining of their allotted 45 overs. Jonny Warr made 63 and James Warr made 56. In reply, VRA were all out for 142 in 41 overs to leave Guernsey as winners by 76 runs.
GAME 3
The game against the Belgium Development XI at Rumst on Sunday was abandoned due to heavy rain with the home side on 65 for 5 after 25 overs. Guernsey legspinner Luke Nussbaumer had taken 3 for 33 when the rain fell.
GAME 4
The second game against the Belgium Development XI on Monday, also at Rumst, was abandoned due to heavy rain with the home side all out for 113. Luke Nussbaumer took 5 for 32.
GAME 5
On Wednesday against Quick CC under-18s at The Hague, Guernsey batted first and made 210 for 5 in 45 overs. Jonny Warr continued his rich vein of form with 91 before being run out, while Luke Nussbaumer made a maiden half-century. In reply, Quick were all out for 105 with Jonny Warr taking remarkable figures of 4 for 4 from 8 overs and Jack Byrne taking three wickets, to leave Guernsey winners by 105 runs.
GAME 6
In the final game v IHBS at The Hague, the home side batted first and made 130 for 7 in a reduced 40 overs, with Kingsma making 50 not out. Seamer James Warr returned the outstanding figures of 3 for 9 from his eight overs, while leggie Luke Nussbaumer tok 3 for 15, also from eight overs.
In reply, Guernsey lost two early wickets to the pace of Khan, but Jonny Warr completed fine tour with an aggressive 50 before a collapse saw Guernsey at 98 for 6. Peter Le Hegarat (19 not out) was then joined by Tom Kimber (15) to take Guernsey close to victory and despite losing Kimber Guernsey won by 3 wickets with 5 overs to spare.
