DHS St Pierre win GCA Shield

DHS St. Pierre won the 2006 GCA Shield against Riva Irregulars at Port Soif. For the second year running, Irregulars ended up as losing finalists.
Batting first, St Pierre made 213 for 8 in their 40 overs. Top scorer was Stefan MOherndl with 44, while there were very useful contributions from B Brouard (34), skipper Andy Priaulx (31) and Martin Gallienne (23). Paul Bailey took 5 for 58 for Irregulars.
In reply, Irregulars were in trouble from the start and never recovered, being dismissed for just 71 in 21.3 overs. Only two players made double figures with the main damage done by J Russell (3 for 4), Wayne Barrett (3 for 13), Karl Ogier (2 for 5) and Paul Gallienne (2 for 7).
Stef Moherndl was named man-of-the-match by the umpires.
