Spanish U15s tour England

Spain Under 15 squadThe tour of England by the Spanish U15 has been a huge success; the achievement of the team surpassed all what was expected of them.

The team was made up of experience and youth and bonded together from the moment we all met up at the Hampshire Rose bowl, the day we all had at Hampshire with two professional coaches training the boys and a tour of the ground, was the first time some of them had been to major sporting venue, a truly lifetime experience for everyone involved.

The main aim of the tour was to gain experience in English conditions and to see how the boys adapt against boys who play for clubs and county sides, and all players on tour exceeded all expectations, showing excellent teamwork, commitment, technical ability, and adapting to new pressures.

We believe all the knowledge gained will turn them in to excellent cricketers for the future, hopefully representing Spain at senior level one day.

There was some outstanding performances on tour, Matthew Winter who took the batting award scoring 250 runs in 6 Innings returning with an average of 50.0, Christian Munoz Mills who took the Bowling award taking 11 wkts at an average of 16.0, Tom Foster taking the catching award also showed excellent leg spin bowling and batting, and Sam Eddington who won the Spirit of Cricket award for outstanding efforts throughout the tour.

Match actionOther achievements to mention Diego Herradol, Callam Murphy, Dan Togher and Oscar Robertson, all bowling well and taking wickets in their first international matches, Ben Girling outstanding performances with the new ball, bowling with pace and accuracy, the fastest bowler overall and at 13 years of age has a great future.

Further mention should be made of Ben Taylor & Joel Brook opening the batting with 1 partnership of 124 plus other partnerships to put the team in good positions and take pressure off middle order batsmen. Ricardo Engleman, Jake Sunderland, Jim Cobb and Brad Seekings all put in excellent performances both in batting and bowling at a consistently high level throughout the tour. The youngest player of the squad has the last mention, at just 11 years old Jack Hersh has a big future showing great technical ability with the bat for someone of his young age.

All the hard work and effort by everyone is starting to show throughout the squad in all age groups so keep up the good work.
