Wraye Wenigmann The German Cricket Federation are looking forward to hosting their first Girls' Tournament, to be held at the University of Oldenburg Sport Hall on 17th and 18th February this year. Four teams from Germany, Berlin, Munich, Oldenburg and Schwerin will compete against the Holland U16 Girls, Lyceaum Alpinium from Zuoz in Switzerland, the Mount Bay School from Penzance and our partners from Gloucestershire, the Newent School Girls. The games will be umpired by a group of internationally qualified umpires and scorers, led by German ICC-Associate umpire Paul Baldwin and ECC umpire Steve Tovey. This is the first womens' event in Germany, and it is drumming up much excitement within German cricketing circles! A report on the tournament together with pictures will be posted here later on in February. |
