TT Races took a backseat on the Isle of Man, as cricket claimed centre stage. Thirteen lucky coaches were put through their paces, attending the UKCC1 ECB Assistant Coach course. ECC coaches Richard O’Sullivan and Tim Dellor led the course which was held at the dramatic King William School, sandwiched between the island’s tiny airport and the rocky coastline.
   
The course ran from Friday afternoon through until the Sunday afternoon, and all the candidates successfully completed the assessment. Plans are already afoot to run a UKCC2 course later on this summer.

The Isle of Man now boasts qualified coaches spanning from sixteen through to…. a fair bit older! David Slack, from the island’s cricket committee, organised the three days of cricket, which everyone involved seemed to enjoy.
