Ravenscroft stars on debut in Southern Electric Premier League

Guernsey's Tim Ravenscroft, aged just 15, made a sparkling debut in the Gold Division of the Southern Electric Premier League last weekend. Batting at number 3 for the Hampshire Academy side against Portsmouth, Ravenscroft made 60 and featured in a huge partnership of nearly 180 with Greg Lamb, a regular member of the Hampshire first team squad last season, who made a century.
Ravenscroft, who attends Elizabeth College in Guernsey, has to fly across to Southampton on most weekends to fulfil his Hampshire Academy commitments and hopes to follow in the footsteps of fellow islander, Lee Savident, who spent several years as a professional with Hampshire CCC in the 1990s.
