Danny Kniveton put in a man of the match performance as the Isle of Man recorded a victory at the first attempt in the ECC Under-19 Division 2 Championships in Jersey. Danny took 5-20 as the Israelis were held to 151-8 in their 50 overs. Ollie Swales took 2-24 and Ross Berry 1-28 with Luke Lacey putting down 9 overs for 29. Max Stokoe (27) and Andy Turner (13) got the Island off to a good start and at 72-1 things looked good. However, wickets fell and it took an innings of 35 not out from Danny Kniveton to get the Isle of Man home by 3 wickets in the 49th over. Richard McGarry (18) and Luke Lacey (13) also contributed.

Avoiding defeat against Germany on Tuesday would now guarantee the Isle of Man a top 3 finish in this 9 team tournament.
