Guernsey win senior "B" inter-insular

The annual "B" inter-insular between the two islands' second-string senior sides was comprehensively won by Guernsey by 5 wickets with 10 overs to spare at Jersey's Grainville.
Jersey fielded an entire under-23 side with this month's ICC European Under-23 tournament in mind while seven of Guernsey's side were also under 23.
Jersey batted first and were put firmly on the back foot by a superb new ball partnership between Peter le Hegarat and Pierre Moody. After 15 overs Jersey were restricted to 25 for 2 with star opener Peter Gough already dismissed by Le Hegarat. Jersey found it hard to break the shackles and finally reached 155 for 6 in their allotted 45 overs. Stephen Dewhurst (43 not out), Mark Chipperfield (33) and Tom Minty (33) all made useful contributions.
In reply Guernsey lost opener Ryan Bishop for a duck after he was adjudged lbw, quickly followed by Ben Ferbrache but Jamie Nussbaumer (20) and Kris Moherndl (40) took the score to 60 before Nussbaumer was dismissed. Moherndl and TJ Ozanne then put together a further 50 partnership and after Moherndl was out it was left to Moody (24 not out) and Ozanne (43 not out) to see Guernsey home in the 35th over to retain the trophy.
