12 teams compete in Norwegian Twenty20

Sinsin CC winners of the Twenty20
No fewer than 12 teams took part in a Twenty20 tournament in Norway on the weekend.

The tournament was organised by Jinnah CC and Sentrum CC and included teams from each of the three Norwegian domestic leagues.

The final was played between Sinsin CC v Nation CC and produced a spectacle of a match. Nation batted first and set a target of 202, their captain Hadi made a century. Sinsin CC responded very well, and reached the 203 target in the 19th over to win by 5 wickets. The man of the match Shakil Ahmad made 93 runs, not out, and took one wicket.

The standard of cricket in the 3 divisions in Norway is increasing, with a lot of young men taking up the sport. There is also youth development taking place with children regularly seen playing in parks and schools all over Oslo. It is encrouaging that more and more local people are joining clubs.
