Leinster Schoolgirls visit Malvern College

Brian O'Rourke, ICU

The Leinster U15 squad in Malvern, England

An enthusiastic under 15 Girls team travelled to Malvern College (English midlands) on the first Leinster Province tour for this particular age group.

The cricket was played in brilliant sunshine and the girls played 40 over games which was a challenge however they performed well loosing narrowly to Kent and beating both Devon and Wales. The tour
was a great success, the girls were delighted to get the opportunity to represent their province away from home and it is hoped a similar trip can be arranged again next season. Several of this squad returned to England (Kent) several weeks later to represent Ireland U’15’s in a similar four-team tournament.
