ICC EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFICATION CRITERIA
Each nations final registration form must be signed by the association President and submitted to the ECC Office, along with all supporting documentary evidence described below, no later than 30 DAYS prior to the tournament start date, as per the Tournament Admin Deadlines schedule.
Qualification is divided into two criteria:
A. NATIONALITY CRITERIA
Players must meet one or more of the following criteria:
A.1) A national of the country (as defined by the country NB British Nationals are not accepted), or
A.2) Born in the country, or
A.3) 7 Year Resident - resident in the country for at least 183 days in each of the immediately preceding seven years
Countries may play an unlimited number of players who qualify under the above criteria and who meet one or more of the development criteria
A.4) 4 Year Resident - resident in the country for at least 183 days in each of the immediately preceding four years
Countries may also play a maximum of TWO players who qualify as 4-year residents and meet one or more of the development criteria
B. DEVELOPMENTAL CRITERIA
In addition to the Nationality Criteria, all players must meet one or more of the development criteria:
B2.1) Played 50% of games in national/domestic competition of the country in any 3 of the 5 preceding years, or
B2.2) Spent a cumulative total of 100 days over the preceding 5 years doing cricket work in the country, or
B2.3) Represented the country at U19 level or above in the past (in an ICC sanctioned match under ICC eligibility rules), or
B2.4) Exceptional circumstances - Convinced Chairman of ICC Cricket Committee that he has a genuine commitment to the development of cricket in the country
The following documentary evidence must be submitted along with the final squad registration form:
For players who qualify as nationals of the country: a copy of the title page of their passport showing nationality, or a confirmation letter/document from the relevant government department.
For players who qualify as born in the country: a copy of the title page of their passport showing place of birth, or a copy of their birth certificate
For players who qualify as 7 or 4-year residents: printout of time spent in country from relevant government department or copy of passport pages showing relevant visa and/or entry date stamps. In addition, confirmation letters from president of club represented or letter from an employer or school, or residence permit and any other relevant documentation
ICC Europe reserves the right to request further documentary evidence should it so require.
NB: Players who qualify under Residents criteria need to provide evidence on an annual basis as proof of their continued eligibility AND in addition both players and the national cricket association must complete and return Annexure 1.1 -'Declaration of Player Status by National Cricket Association and Player', with the final registration form.
Age Criteria - All players must be 16 before or on 31 December in the calendar year preceding the championship. Please see ICC Europe Date of Birth Matrix for confirmation of relevant dates.
Special Dispensation & Exceptional Circumstances - Any requests for special dispensation must be received no later than 60 days prior to the start of the tournament using form Annexure 1.2 - 'Application for Exceptional Circumstances (& Special Dispensation Under-Age)', and submitted to the Europe Office.
