Castletown failed by just nine runs to win the Menorca International 20/20 tournament on Thursday.
They pinned back favourites Barnsley to 152 for 9 from their twenty overs. Ollie Steriopulos turned in a great bowling display with 5 wickets for 18 runs, including a hat-trick.
In the Town reply Paul Wilcox hit 46 and Wicus Wessels made 23. However their hopes were shattered by Peter Hepworth who took 3 for 17, including another hat-trick.
In a tight finish the Manx side finished on 143 for 8. Although they lost the final, Castletown were runners-up, a very creditable performance against strong opposition.
