THE curtain came down on the NatWest Indoor Cricket season last night with Rathbones Old Victorians completing the second leg of a Division I league and cup double at Fort Regent last night.
OVs lifted the cup following a 28-run win against JJCA I. Jonny Gough scored 34 as OVs were bowled out for 107.
Peter Whitsey and Sam de la Haye did the damage with the ball taking three wickets for 28 runs and two for 23 respectively.
OVs bowlers Jon Giles, two for 18, and Tom Minty, 2 for 11, kept a tight reign on JJCA 1 and despite 21 runs from de la Haye and 39 from Matt Hanley they fell short after being dismissed for 79.
Caesareans Juniors won the Division III final with a 13-run victory over Jersey Post.
Spain-bound Joe Mayes, who is off on a five-day ICC Europe Centre of Excellence training camp next week, and Simeon Entwhistle were undefeated with the bat with 30 runs and 27 respectively as the Juniors totalled 99 for 3 in the allotted 12 overs.
Andrew Rabet took two wickets for 17 runs restricting Post office to 86 all out in their reply in which Jamie Bara scored 34 and Sean McDonald 31.
Division II champions Centurions failed to complete a league and cup double despite a magnificent unbeaten 74 from Martin Higgins.
JUBRFC won by 14 runs after defending 137 for 2 in which Dave Jenkins scored an unbeaten 27 while Ben Naylor was 28 not out.
Centurions put up a great effort to finish on 123 for 5 with Danny Bertram supporting Higgins well by scoring 34.
Cup and divisional trophies were presented by NatWest representative Jerry Whitsey thus completing another successful indoor campaign.
