IOM Umpiring Course

The first ECC Introduction to Umpiring course was held at the NSC over the weekend of 11-13 April 2008. The course was delivered by ECC Instructor Dennis Burns who did so in a highly informed and stimulating manner. The course covered all aspects of the Laws of Cricket as well as some of the man management skills which are necessary to properly officiate in cricket matches. It is hoped to run more of these courses in future as well as further advanced courses with a view to, not only improving the standard of umpiring on the island, but also to developing a pool of elite Manx umpires who may go on to represent the Island in International fixtures.
