Scotland in the pink at Lord's

MCC

An experimental pink ball will be used when the Scottish Saltires play the MCC in a 50-over match today (Monday April 21) at Lord's. This is Scotland’s final warm up match ahead of the first Friends Provident game against Lancashire on Sunday April 27 at the Citylets Grange.

The 12-man Lloyds TSB Saltires squad selected is: Ryan Watson (Forfarshire, captain); Richie Berrington, Dewald Nel (Greenock); John Blain (Rotherham); Ed Cowan (Uddingston); Gordon Drummond (Watsonians); Majid Haq (Ferguslie); Neil McCallum (Grange); Glenn Rogers (Stenhousemuir); Qasim Sheikh (Clydesdale); Colin Smith (Aberdeenshire); Fraser Watts (Carlton).

Gavin Hamilton and Craig Wright are unavailable due to work commitments.

Scotland coach Peter Steindl said: "It will certainly be strange playing with a pink ball, but this will be a great opportunity at the home of cricket to get ourselves going for the new season with bat and ball.

"The preparation we had in Namibia was excellent, and we are determined to focus on the Friends Provident Trophy challenges ahead. Lords is always an amazing place to play and the team are looking forward to it immensely."
