Channel Islands challenge for MCC Women
MCC Media Release MCC’s Women Cricketers will start the season with an international flavour when a party of 12 will fly off to represent the Club on an early season tour of the Channel Islands. The MCC team, managed by Judy Wilmot and captained by former England Women’s International and world cup winner Debbie Stock, will be playing three games against a newly-formed Channel Islands team. Consisting of the best players from both Guernsey and Jersey, the Channel Islands team will look to gain experience from competing against MCC’s roster of former and current international, county and UCCE players. John Stephenson, MCC’s Head of Cricket, said: "We hope to provide the Channel Islands team with good, competitive cricket over the course of these matches in addition to introducing the game to local schoolchildren and helping to increase participation on the islands.” MCC’s matches against the Channel Islands will take place on the 2nd, 4th and 5th May and will take place in limited-overs format.
