UKCC Level 1 course to be held on island
IOMCA
A Level 1 cricket coaching course is being held on the island over the Bank Holiday weekend.The course is being delivered by ECC instructors Mervyn Jones and Dave Gelling. The latter, as his name would suggest, has family connections with the island and is looking forward to doing a bit of combining “Who do you think you are” with his course delivery duties. Aspiring coaches who are on the course are Chris Whittaker, Alex Stokoe & Alasdair Slack (Cronkbourne), Dave Kenworthy, Dave Beard, George Bell and Matt Cregeen (Castletown), Bill Shimmins, Dave Picken and Kevin Kniveton (Crosby) and Tom Howard (Ramsey).
Also joining the course is David Brown who has travelled all the way from Hungary to attend.
The course commences at the NSC on Friday lunctime and then moves down to King Williams College for the Saturday and Sunday sessions. IOMCA CDO Gareth Dawson will also be lending assistance over the course of the weekend.
