NatWest Weekend League - Driver supreme

Andy Bradshaw of the Jersey Evening Post

Driver supreme

THERE were some excellent scores in the NatWest Weekend Premier Cricket League, but none better than Ryan Driver’s match-winning, undefeated 109 for Romeril’s at Grainville.

With Ian Crocker also getting 30 Romerils set Springfield at target of 270, but despite a fine knock of 71 from Jason Carpenter they fell 69 runs short – with Driver taking three wickets.

At Les Quennevais Fairbairn SCF beat Rathbone OVs by 21 runs, with Danny Bertram scoring 63 runs for the winners.

Bradley Vowden took four of their wickets at a cost of 27 runs, but despite a solid opening Old Victorians suffered under the bowling of Bradley Vautier who claimed both Gough brothers in figures of three for 23.

Dean Morrison was in hard-hitting form for St Ouen in their 92-run victory over Caesareans, finishing with a 81 from a total of 252. Simon Short scored a half-century on his debut for the club.

Karl Moyse had the best bowling figures of 3 for 32 as Caesareans were dismissed for 160.
