The latest new junior club emerges in Zug
Patrick Henderson
On Sunday 4th May the Zug Junior Cricket Club met for training for the first time. The session took place at the ISOZ School gymnasium. The club is now meeting every week on Sunday afternoons.
The club got off to an excellent start with over 30 children, with the main age range 7-12. The start had been carefully prepared with several of the organisers attending an ECB Level 1 course in January 2008. The club has 5 coaches and 2 assistants running the 2-hour sessions.
Happily the club is able to run both indoor sessions in the Rigi Gym and outdoor sessions if the weather permits as they have a large artificial soccer field. It is hoped that this summer the club will play its first matches against other clubs. Zurich Crickets and Gingins Juniors have already shown interest.
