Premier match du championnat d’Europe

France vs Allemagne , terrain King George V

L’Allemagne gagne le toss et envoie la France à la frappe. Bon premier over mais Arun Ayyavooraju est donné LBW bien que la balle ait touché sa batte, comme on dit cela arrive. Son partenaire pris l’initiative et enflamme la piste par des courses supersoniques et des frappes puissantes, emmenant la France après 10 séries à 69 pour 1. Le score continua de grimper mais à un rythme moins effréné, la France se voyant éliminé après 43 séries pour 206.

 La pluie fut l’ennemi N°1 de la France lors de la deuxième manche, stoppant le match 3 fois. L’introduction du système Duckwoth et lewis donna une idée du score à faire pour limiter les allemands et donc gagner. Les arbitres finissant par arrêter le match après 38 séries dans la deuxième manche. L’Allemagne devait marquer 101 pour gagner mais au moment de l’arrêt du match l’Allemagne n’avait que 143 au tableau et avait perdu 8 joueurs.

Ainsi la France commence le tournoi par une victoire. Le deuxième match opposera mardi  19  la France à Jersey, les favoris. Espérons que le résultat soit de nouveau en faveur des bleus.
