JERSEY’S cricket clubs have given a full-blown Channel Islands League the go-ahead to start next season.
And with Guernsey having already giving the eleven-team league the thumbs up last week, organisers in the islands will now look into the logistics of playing the championship.
Leagues management committee secretary Ron Halliwell said: ‘Jersey clubs were unanimous with their decision and Guernsey’s Dave Piesing and myself will now look at the logistics of the league and work out the fixtures. We agree with Guernsey’s suggestion that it should be a complete league for two years unless there is a large dividing line after the first season and then we may split the league into two divisions.’
