Record individual score
FC
Angoulême CC moved into their new home ground this season and are obviously pleased that they can at last play their "home" League/Cup games at home! They are also pleased with the performance of their opening batsman, Usman Manawar. Not yet 22, Usman is in his second season with the club and he scored 558 of the 1232 runs notched up by the club in their 8-match National League campaign, with an average of 93. The highlight of Usman's remarkable season came on the last day, on 5th July, at home to Catus CC: he faced the first ball of the innings - and the last one. In between, he scored an undefeated 214, which included 17 sixes, 4 of which came off the last 4 balls, to take Angoulême's innings score to 317. This knock came after earlier scores of 108 and 96 not out. However, John Harding, St Aulaye Cricket's French international, will tell you that Usman is not infallible: he got him for just 2... but that was at the start of the season. Usman is now in the record books as the top scorer in the history of French league cricket. And his 2009 League bowling performance is not bad either: 12 for 120, including a 3-11.
Angoulême now take on Bordeaux in the south-west Siddalls Cup quarter-finals.
