SCA Votes in Experienced Faces at AGM 2010

John McKillop, a former SCA President and current Vice President, was elected as SCA President at this year's AGM (2010) held in the Swiss capital, Berne. John McKillop was elected unanimously, defeating incumbent D.N.Mathur.

John will bring much valued experience at a time when Swiss cricket is looking forward to positive changes.

Former Vice-President, scientist at CERN and OBE Dr.Bryan Pattison, was elected unanimously as Vice-President. There was no opposition.

Pradeep Vijayadas (Honorary Secretary), Sangameswaran Subbiramaniam (Competitions Chairman), Patrick Henderson (Youth Development Officer) and Robin McGhee (International Match Manager) were all re-elected unanimously, without opposition. In their reports it was clear that much work has been accomplished in the past year and the previous ones.

Nitesh Gandhi (Honorary Treasurer), who had done a good job in 2009, decided not to continue due to personal priorities. Members wished him good luck.

Former SCA Secretary, Alexander D.Mackay was unanimously elected as Sponsorship and Publicity Coordinator, defeating incumbent Brian Basnayake. Alex will also take care of the duties of Honorary treasurer until a new Treasurer is elected. A.Mackay will also bring in much valued experience.

The SCA Annual report, presented by the Honorary secretary, reiterated the association's firm commitment, to work towards Switzerland becoming an Associate Member of the International Cricket Council in the immediate future.

2010 also witnessed a new addition to the SCA membership base. Uprising Cricket Club was admitted as Associate member of the association.

Members congratulated, the Swiss National side for its excellent performance at ICC European Division IV championships held in Cyprus 2009. Youth development received appreciation for the good work and accomplishments in 2009, including at the Under 15 International Division II championships in Bologna.

Micheal George was congratulated by members for his ''Outstanding Coaching Achievement'' ICC award, presented by the legendary Michael Holding.
