Nearly 70 representatives and guests from member countries, partner organisations, sponsors, suppliers, media and the EDP coaching and umpiring team arrived at Lord's on Saturday 18 May for European Presidents' Day.

Despite an overcast start to the day, everyone enjoyed a full day of cricket ń the third day of the first Test against Sri Lanka ń and hospitality in the banqueting suite, all generously provided by MCC.

Malcolm Gray (President, ICC), Tim Lamb (Chief Executive, ECB), Roger Knight (Secretary & Chief Executive, MCC) and Doug Insole (Chair, ECC) all dropped in to greet the guests, and everyone took the opportunity to discuss development issues and to exchange ideas during the course of the day.

As Karin Simpson-Parker (ACA) said: "Not only did we have the rare chance to watch international cricket live, to enjoy food, drink and great hospitality; the vital aspect, we believe, is to meet so many people involved in European cricket in one place and have the chance to discuss developments of mutual interest in an atmosphere enjoyed by everyone.

It is indeed impressive how many people are now involved compared to a few years ago and we are sure that events like Saturday„s Presidents„ Day will continue to help strengthen old and create new cricketing structures, activities and friendships in Europe."
