Romania's event was hosted by the American International School of Bucharest on 11 May, and was intended to introduce cricket to other Romanian schools, through introductory drills and exercises and with exhibition matches played by some of the students.

The event was organised by Australian teacher and keen cricketer, Jonathon Brian.

The school is some distance from the city, and this clearly deterred participants from the schools the event was intended to incorporate.

Things were further hampered by a plaster cast on co-organiser Corneliu Roibu's left leg from a volleyball injury.

15 students, between the ages of 7 and 15, from AISB and 6 parents enjoyed an interesting and dynamic session run by Jonathon, however, and whilst the original objective of promoting cricket to the Romanians was not achieved, everyone felt that their community had indeed celebrated the Spirit of Cricket.
