Over 100 people attended a special presentation reception held by the Irish Cricket Union at Ballymascanlon House Hotel, Dundalk, on Friday 4 January in recognition of the achievements of the Ireland Women's cricket team and three youth sides who all won their respective European tournaments last summer. The presentations were made by ICU President, Derek Scott.

The boys U13, U15 and U17 squads were all victorious in their European competitions, in what was one of the most successful years ever for Irish underage cricket. The women's team, under the direction of coach Richard Davies, has been going from strength to strength, and winning the European Championships at Bradfield College in August was the highlight of their season.
