New Laws Video Launched at Lord's
2 March 2001
On Wednesday 2 March the EDM attended the launch of a video on the recent changes to the Laws of cricket. Barrie Stuart-King, Chairman of the ACU&S, and Test umpire, John Holder, who has been active in Europe throughout the winter were both present. A 20-minute 'highlights' package was shown, detailing how the changes will impact on players, captains, scorers and, of course, umpires. A fascinating discussion followed with members of the press and Middlesex playing staff, including Angus Fraser, put through a series of general questions on the Laws. At the end of the session, Barrie Stuart-King confirmed that the majority of 'simple' questions/scenarios offered, had been incorrectly answered! The video is available through the ACU&S. The EDM would encourage all member countries to obtain copies for both players and umpires to view before the start of the 2001 season.
