Day 16 (18 April) ñ Belgium: The beat goes onÖ

Yes, it's the Chairman's turn to do the honours today and Ken Farmiloe successfully leads the Roadshow to the OLVE primary school near Antwerp. Once again, the youngsters are with it 200%, and around 120 six to 11 year-olds benefit from the visit. Bruce and Mike shout "cricket", the youngsters shout back "fun", and an enthusiastic PE teacher joins in all the games. She isn't the only one. The Chairman tees up the ball to give a rapid demo of a forward drive and lets fly ñ Bruce and Mike hit the floor and the little red ball almost takes the sound system out. Good grief, the guys ask themselves, if he can do that with Kwik Cricket gear what can he do with the real thing? And the sound system? Well, the beat goes on ñ and on and on andÖ Fortunately to some different tunes now after a quick visit to a CD shop broadens the range of material. Session after session for Bruce and Mike is resulting in some rather startling side-effects: "We now know all the words to Summer Hits Volume 2 and Just Hits Volume 3," says Bruce. Mike says he's also learning Flemish. In the meantime, OLVE in Edegem proves to be another big day with a PE teacher keen to start on Kwik CricketÖ
