The Norwegians are taking the forthcoming ECC Notts SportĘ Trophy seriously. After going to Malta for a pre-season training camp, the national team entertained the SSM club from Lahore for two matches over the weekend of 21st and 22nd June. The strength of the opposition was not quite that advertised in advance but, nevertheless, provided good tests for the emerging Norwegians.

EDP coach Ralph Dellor, who is helping Norway with their preparations for the tournament in Vienna in August, was able to put in some more work with the team and highlight some deficiencies that need to be addressed before Norway can fulfil their undoubted potential.

Norway won both matches, batting first in the 50 overs match on the Saturday and chasing in the 35 overs match on Sunday. During Saturday's match, the teams and officials were presented to His Excellency, the Ambassador for Pakistan in Norway, Mr. Shabaz Gul, who also attended an official dinner later that evening.
