Invigorated by the recent visit of a team from EFG Private Bank in London, (more details) sixteen of Iceland's cricketers held a training session on 12 August to coincide with the airing of a report about the EFG tour on TransWorld Sport.

Five days later, players from Reykjavik's Kylfan team headed north to StykkishÛlmur for a match against local team Glaumur. Kylfan, with five foreigners in their side, won the match, and another game is now planned, in which Iceland's Indian population will take on the locals. Such has been the interest generated in Iceland by EFG's visit, a new club could soon be on the cards.
