Members of Ljubljana CC ran an introductory coaching session in Skofja Loka on Saturday 20 October.

The session was advertised locally via posters and word-of-mouth, and a small but enthusiastic group turned up. An encouraging amount of interest was generated among local youngsters who happened to be at the venue that day, who watched for a while, then joined in as they got the idea.

Everyone was given a grounding in the rudiments of the game, with skills coaching for both batting and bowling from club members, followed by a game of Kwik Cricket. The kids went home with cricket t-shirts and pens provided by the Europe Office, and, hopefully, some enthusiasm to play again.

There are plans to follow up this initial session with another one in November, and the club already has a contact in one of the local schools who is keen to take things forward.
