28-29 April: All age groups present. Specialist sessions with Roland Butcher/Stan Mortensen and Alistair McCaw (South African fitness/fielding coach). Afternoon: 1-day games for U13/15/17/19 and specialist sessions for U12s.
1-2 May: 2-day matches with mixed U13/15 sides and mixed U17/19 sides. Total 90-100 kids (U12: 24, U13: 18, U15: 20, U17: 15, U19: 17 = 94). Also launch of KNCB youth cricket magazine 2003. Whole youth committee will be present including all the KNCB Coaches used for coaching programme.

Ireland

3-4 May: inter schools youth tournament to be held at Railway Union CC, Leinster
Northern Ireland: youth coaching in 5 regional centres, culminating in Northern v North Western match. Report

April 9: World Cup Tournament - Report and Pictures
April 14-15: 2-day match for U16 players, North v South - first ever 2-day match staged in Israel, offering youngsters a chance to bat & bowl for long periods, and getting the captains and players thinking about tactics. Based on premise extolled by Bob Woolmer etc that the only way to make good cricketers into excellent ones is to get them playing the longer version of the game. Report

1 May: Pakistan United CC vs Sri Lankan CC (ACA Trophy 40 overs) in Markommannenstrasse - competitive dÈbut of Pakistan United CC, new ACA members, and first match for re-formed Sri Lankan club with new squad of young players.
2 May: Programme to be finalised - likely to be informal.
3 May: 2pm Pakistan CC vs winners of Pakistan United CC/Sri Lankan CC (ACA Trophy) in Seebarn, & Concordia CC U-19 vs Lords CC "Young" XI - Lords CC are hoping to set up a youth team and this will be their first step. Sri Lankan CC and Pakistan United CC will also be fielding youth teams during the season.
4 May: 11am Concordia CC vs Five Continents CC (Markommannenstrasse) in the Open League - opening fixture of 2003 Open League competition. Friendly games scheduled in Seebarn - awaiting confirmation of participating teams. The previous weekend will have seen the ÷MS tournament (for Austrian cricketers) played out to a finish with Lords CC, Vienna CC, Concordia CC and CC Velden '91 participating in a 30 over tournament.

Belgium

4 May: opening day of league, 3 games in Brussels, Antwerp and Mechelen. Belgian National team, including new young Belgian players, travelling to Luxembourg to play a friendly against their National team.

3 May: Youth Cricket Festival, Happy Valley Sports Ground on Episkopi British Forces Garrison. Kwik Cricket Tournament divided into two leagues, U8 and 9-11 age groups. Expecting 48 children in each league divided into two divisions of four teams, playing at least 3 games of Kwik Cricket based on the pairs game with six players in each team (size of team to be modified if numbers vary). Also U16s Pairs Competition - expect about 30 in this age group. Existing youngsters will be encouraged to bring a friend from the local community to this event. There will be no charge and all competitors will receive a trophy paid from a combination of local sponsorship and existing funds. Prize Draw to raise funds for Cricket Development in Cyprus and charity.
4 May: match between British Military Team and Locals/Expats. Report

Czech Republic

19 April: Children's Day at local sports centre in Prague.

Finland

3 May: kids coaching on Suomenlinna island, followed by U11 and over 11 tournaments with schools participating that have had coaching visits through the winter. This will be followed by a "FINNS ONLY" knockout competition. Food & drinks will be served throughout the day by FCA.
4 May: replay of the 2002 league final, a "charity shield" season opener between Helsinki CC and SKK at SKK's Ruskeasuo ground. Report

3-4 May: 2 matches against English opposition at Main Square Ground, Corfu.
10-11 May: Juniors mini tournament & schools tournament at Main Square Ground.
2 matches against English opposition at Marina Ground. Expecting in excess of 400 participants in total.

3-4 May: Norway travelling to Malta for coaching & international matches. Another touring side will also be in Malta at the time. Malta hoping to get youngsters & government officials involved. Report

19-23 May: Cricket induction for 25 teachers run by Adam Cole. Report

Spain

3-4 May: Sporting Alfas CC to play matches against touring team - Headstone St George. Raffle to raise money. Match in Madrid the week before: Madrid CC will play St George's Church Cricket Team. At lunch a triangular Kwik Cricket tournament will be held between Kings College, British Council School and Madrid CC. The matches will be sponsored thus raising money for local charities. Report

4 May: inaugural David Barmes Memorial Trophy at the Bout Du Monde Cricket Ground in Geneva between last yearís Swiss Champions, Winterthur, and a select Swiss National Side, to launch 2003 season. Trophy named after two-time Swiss Cricket Association President David Barmes (died 2001), whose greatest ambition was to see all cricket clubs in Switzerland play in one competition. Two teams have re-joined the Swiss Cricket Association this year & his dream has been realised. In his memory Geneva CC are organising this game. Various alternatives being discussed for the Saturday. Report

Slovak Republic

1 May: 10am in Hajske, football playground. Explaination for newcomers followed by childrenës match. 12.00: 30 overs 11 a side. Competitions during lunch break. Picnic to follow match. Hoping for many spectators. Local school children and staff have been invited and will come; plans to invite a few people from foreign ambassies. Local journalists notified and invited. Many other people will drop by as 1 May is a bank holiday. If day is successful, plan to organise something similar for 1 June ñ children¥s day - with attendance of more journalists. Report

17-18 May: limited overs tournament on Flicx pitch at National Sports Academy, between Sofia Pakistanis, Sofia Indians, Pleven Indians, Sofia English/Invitation XI. ECB Level 1 coaching course, to involve Bulgarian students and connect the coaching with 'live' matches.

Romania

3-4 May: Romanian Cricket Development Weekend at American International School of Bucharest. Coaching session & limited overs exhibition match. Other schools invited to take part - approx 100 participants expected.
