Allrounder Philipp Bachstadt of Germany and wicketkeeper/batsman Frederick Klokker of Denmark will join the MCC Young Cricketer staff during the forthcoming season. They will train with the MCC Young Cricketers and also play "out-matches" for the MCC. Their costs are being underwritten by ECC. The Emerging Nations Tournament has been conceived to accelerate the transition of nominated fast-track countries to One-day International level. Four European countries, namely Denmark, Holland, Ireland and Scotland, join Kenya and Zimbabwe 'A' in a 15 match round robin tournament, which is to be hosted by the Zimbabwe Cricket Union.
