Israel gets Spirit of Cricket Weekend 2003 off to a flyer
The World Cup may have finished some weeks ago in South Africa, but Israel's version was only played on Wednesday. Over 120 children, a record number for any local cricket activity, were divided into 12 teams, each playing under the name and in the colours of a World Cup country. In marked contrast to the real World Cup, Australia failed to win a single game, South Africa actually did quite well, and Pakistan won the trophy. here ICC Development Program announces Global Award winners
The ICC Development Program's first ever Global Award winners were recently announced, with a range of winners emphasising the scope of the modern cricket world. The Development Program Annual Awards have been introduced to recognise the achievements of groups and individuals from Associate and Affiliate ICC Members.

How to Bridge the Great Divide: The High Performance Programme
16 players between the ages of 18 and 24 from 8 countries will arrive in Alfas del Pi, Spain, for the second European Academy on 30 March, where they will spend two and a half weeks being put through their paces by a highly qualified group of coaches. Mike Gatting will be visiting the academy in his new role as an ambassador for the European Development Program

2003 'Imagination' Roadshow Following the huge success of the inaugural European 'Imagination' Roadshow in 2002, the 2003 roadshow was launched at the ICC European Development Program's Administration & Management Forum in Herning, Denmark on 14 February. Forty delegates from 18 countries watched as Bruce Smuts and Mike Flockhart – a remarkable double-act with an unquenchable enthusiasm for the game and an instinctive rapport with young audiences that breaks down language barriers – put a group of Danish youngsters through their paces.
