Tours Noticeboard

This page is aimed at assisting those of you who are keen either to host touring sides, or to organise tours to parts of Europe which you haven't visited before. The nine Associate countries, fourteen Affiliate countries and approximately 15 new territories we are currently working with should provide some exciting opportunities, so if you would like to flag up your interest, please send an outline of what you can offer or what you are looking for in terms of facilities, opposition etc (no more than 150 words, please!) plus any relevant photos you may have to , along with contact details for further information. Unfortunately we will not be able to assist financially or administratively beyond this point, but hope this facility will encourage links amongst the European cricketing fraternity.

Please note that users of this facility are encouraged to make their own checks to ensure that the facilities and opposition on offer are of an appropriate standard, as the ECC is unable to guarantee this.

Graeme Turton, Secretary, Morton CC: "The lads all got back home safe and well even after enjoying some Trieste and Stansted airport hospitality. Everybody who I have spoken to since has said that Ljubljana was the best Morton Tour yet. Superb hospitality from our hosts, staying in a beautiful city, with stunning countryside in a lovely country.

Where can you play cricket and enjoy the sight of ancient castles, glorious alpine scenery in glorious weather from late March to early October? Ljubljana cricket club would like to show you the answer. Like to play in Poland?

Poland now boasts a new club called Polonia Cricket Club, whose members play cricket almost every weekend in the Polish/German border region. Our team is of mixed sex and all but one are Polish. At present we are at an early stage of development but would like to start playing 'real' matches next year. If there are any teams out there who might be interested in playing against us, either here in Poland or at other locations, please contact us.

Cricket in Burgundy

Montbard Cricket Club of Burgundy, France, has been in existence for several years and has frequently played host to English and Irish touring teams, mostly of pub or village green level - our position here amidst the vines and all the rest has proved to be quite a draw! We would like to repeat this experience at least once this coming season. Dates that would suit us are at the end of August and most any time in September.

Dijon, the nearest airport, is close by and is served by Buzz who fly cheaply to and from Stansted. We would be happy to make reservations for car rentals, if desired, so that any visiting team could enjoy their stay to the maximum. If a team would prefer to use their own transport, I will happily pass on information as to how to get here - it's very easy. And then there is also the possibility of an almost direct train connection via Eurostar. Naturally, we would also be pleased to book rooms for visitors at a good local hostelry and do anything else to make such a visit a pleasurable one.
