Currently 18 teams participate in the SCA League Championship. The championship comprises four divisions essentially structured on a geographical basis. The top team from each division compete in the Semi-Finals and the winners of these matches play in the SCA League Final. There is also a knockout competition, the Pickwick Cup. Plans are in place to change the format of the League and replace the four divisions with an A and B Division. It is intended that the A division will comprise the top eight teams from the four divisions and the remaining teams will be in the B division. In addition the SCA is reviewing player registration and transfer procedures to allow, amongst other things, the establishment of a player database.
